Expected cutoffs: IIM Jammu vs IIM Bodh Gaya

NTA only declares the JIPMAT scorecard — the cutoffs are set independently by the two participating IIMs, who build their own merit lists with separate weightages on Class 10, Class 12, gender and academic diversity. Based on the last three published cycles and the rising application volume in 2026:

  • IIM Bodh Gaya — General category expected cutoff: 330+ / 400. For a comfortable PI call, aim for 340+.
  • IIM Jammu — General category expected cutoff: 310+ / 400. Safe-zone target: 320+.
  • Reserved categories (OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST / PwD) — historically 30–80 marks lower than General, varying by IIM.

These are working targets, not guaranteed numbers. The 2026 cutoff will move with the difficulty of the 7 June paper and the applicant pool size — both IIMs have seen a 12–18% YoY jump in JIPMAT registrations.

JIPMAT 2026 vs IPMAT Indore — quick differences

  • No short-answer Maths: JIPMAT is fully MCQ-driven, unlike IPMAT Indore’s Quantitative-Short-Answer section.
  • Single 150-minute window: No sectional timing in JIPMAT — you can move freely across sections.
  • Selection round: Both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have a PI round post-result. No WAT.
  • Difficulty: JIPMAT QA is broadly Class 10 NCERT level; IPMAT Indore QA pushes into Class 11–12 Maths.

The 16-day sprint plan (T-16 to T-0)

  • Day 1–4: Quant — Number System, Percentage, Profit/Loss, SI/CI, Ratio, Time-Speed-Distance, Time-Work, Mensuration. Do 20 mixed problems daily.
  • Day 5–7: DI & LR — sets on tables, bar/pie, caselets, syllogism, blood relations, seating arrangement, coding-decoding. 2 sets daily.
  • Day 8–10: VARC — RC passages (2 daily), para-jumbles, error spotting, vocabulary in context. Read one editorial daily from The Hindu or Business Standard.
  • Day 11–13: Three full-length mocks (one per day). Review same evening — log silly mistakes and concept gaps separately.
  • Day 14: Targeted revision of weakest section from mock analytics.
  • Day 15: One final mock + admit card download check.
  • Day 16: Light revision only. Sleep early. Reach centre 90 minutes before reporting time.
