The IPMAT Indore 2026 result is the single most-searched IPM query in India this week. If past trends hold, IIM Indore will declare the IPMAT 2026 scorecard on Friday, 29 May 2026 at iimidr.ac.in. With the exam having been held on 4 May 2026, the official response sheet released on 10 May, and the objection window closed on 12 May, the result clock is now ticking on a roughly 25-day gap that IIM Indore has historically respected.
This guide is the playbook nobody is publishing — an hour-by-hour, screen-by-screen IPMAT result-day rundown: what to do at result time, how to handle scorecard portal login failures, how to read sectional cutoffs without panic, and exactly what to file for the PI shortlist in the 72 hours after. We have ordered everything in the actual sequence you will need it. Save this page and read it once on the evening of 28 May.
IPMAT Indore 2026: The Verified Timeline (as of 24 May 2026)
- Exam date: 4 May 2026 (IIM Indore IPMAT)
- Response sheet: Released 10 May 2026
- Objection window: 11 May (10:00 am) – 12 May (5:00 pm) 2026
- Expected result date: Friday, 29 May 2026 (most likely, based on IIM Indore’s Friday + 25-day pattern from previous cycles)
- Backup window: First week of June 2026 if processing extends
- PI shortlist: Same window as result release on iimidr.ac.in
- Personal Interview (PI) for IPM 2026-31: Third week of July 2026 (tentative)
- Official portal: iimidr.ac.in
Important note for 2026: IIM Indore is conducting only a Personal Interview — there is no separate Written Ability Test (WAT) in the current IPM 2026-31 selection design. This changes how you should prepare in the gap between scorecard and interview.
Decision Day: The Hour-by-Hour Playbook for 29 May 2026
T-12 hours (Evening of 28 May) — Logistics Lock
- Open iimidr.ac.in in two browsers (Chrome + Firefox or Safari). Verify both load.
- Locate your IPMAT 2026 application number and date of birth from your registration email. Save them to a single notepad file titled “IPMAT-2026-Login.txt” on your desktop.
- Convert these PDFs and keep them in one folder named “IPMAT-2026-Documents”: (a) IPMAT admit card, (b) Class 10 marksheet, (c) Class 12 marksheet or predicted score sheet, (d) Category certificate (if applicable), (e) ID proof.
- Charge your laptop. Keep your phone hotspot ready as a fallback connection.
- Sleep before 11:00 pm. Result-day stress is amplified by sleep debt.
T-2 hours (Morning of 29 May, ~10:00 am IST) — Portal Warm-up
- Hard-refresh the IIM Indore IPM admissions page (Ctrl+F5 on Windows / Cmd+Shift+R on Mac). This clears cached pre-result HTML.
- Bookmark the live admissions URL — do not rely on Google searches once results drop; the SERP will get hijacked by aggregators within 30 minutes.
- Do not repeatedly hit the portal every 60 seconds. You will spike your own session limit. Check once every 15 minutes from 11:00 am onwards.
T-0 — Result Goes Live
- Log in with application number + date of birth. Download the scorecard PDF immediately.
- Take three screenshots: (a) overall score, (b) sectional scores, (c) PI shortlist status banner if shown.
- Forward the scorecard PDF to a backup email and to a parent’s email. Do not depend on a single device.
T + 30 minutes — Login Failure Triage
If the portal throws “Login Failed”, “Server Busy”, or a 500 error, follow this exact order:
- Step 1: Clear browser cache and try the same browser in incognito/private mode.
- Step 2: Switch browsers (Chrome → Firefox).
- Step 3: Switch network (Wi-Fi → mobile hotspot).
- Step 4: Wait 20 minutes. Surges typically settle in this window.
- Step 5: Only if all above fail, email the IIM Indore IPM admissions cell with screenshots of the error and your application number. Avoid panic-emailing in the first hour.
T + 2 hours — Sectional Cutoff Decode
IPMAT Indore enforces mandatory sectional cutoffs across QA-SA (short answer), QA-MCQ, and VA (Verbal Ability). Missing any one section disqualifies you regardless of how high your overall score is. The expected General-category sectional cut-offs for 2026 (based on multi-year trends) are approximately:
- QA-SA: ~22-28 marks
- QA-MCQ: ~34-38 marks
- Verbal Ability: ~110-118 marks
- Overall safe PI-shortlist zone (General): 210-230+; comfortable zone 240+
These numbers will be confirmed by IIM Indore in June along with the official result. Reserved-category cutoffs are lower; consult the official notification for exact figures.
The 72-Hour Post-Result Workflow
Hour 0-24: Shortlist Confirmation
If your scorecard shows you have been shortlisted for PI, screenshot it and save a PDF copy. If you are not shortlisted but are above the sectional cutoffs, watch for IIM Indore’s category-wise extended list, which sometimes opens within 7-10 days.
Hour 24-72: Document File Build
Whether shortlisted now or holding out for a waitlist, build your PI document file immediately:
- Class 10 and 12 marksheets (originals + scanned PDFs)
- IPMAT 2026 scorecard PDF
- School-leaving / character certificate
- Category, PwD, EWS certificates (if applicable)
- Passport-size photographs (10 hard copies; soft copy at 200 KB JPG)
- Government photo ID
- A clean 2-page CV: academics, projects, MUNs, sports, social work, hobbies
Hour 72 and Beyond: PI Prep Begins
With the PI window in the third week of July 2026, you have roughly 7-8 weeks of pure interview prep. Focus areas in priority order:
- Current affairs (March-July 2026): policy, economics, geopolitics, education
- Why-IPM and why-IIM-Indore narrative (the most-asked questions)
- Class 12 stream concepts (every subject you took) — interviewers test depth
- One co-curricular passion (sports, debate, music, coding) you can defend with detail
- Two mock PIs per week with timed feedback
What to Avoid on Result Day
- Do not visit third-party “result download” links pushed by aggregator sites — they harvest your application number and DOB.
- Do not share your scorecard PDF in public WhatsApp groups; it contains personally identifiable information.
- Do not compare scores in the first 6 hours — your interpretation of “good” or “bad” will be skewed by adrenaline.
- Do not commit to a “no-IIM-Indore-then-no-future” mindset. Within the IPM ecosystem, IIM Rohtak, IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, and DU JAT all have open 2026 windows.
If You Miss the Shortlist: The Parallel Plan
IPMAT Indore is one door — not the only one. If your IPMAT scorecard does not produce a shortlist, you still have:
- IIM Rohtak IPM 2026 — Result already declared on 20 May 2026. PI in 2nd week of June. Check our IPMAT coaching if you need PI mock support.
- JIPMAT 2026 (IIM Jammu & IIM Bodh Gaya) — Exam on 7 June 2026; registration window check on exams.nta.ac.in/JIPMAT.
- DU JAT 2026 — Delhi University’s BMS/BBA-FIA entry route; alternate cohort if eligible.
- Repeat attempt: If you are still in Class 12, the IPMAT 2027 cycle opens early 2027. A 12-month plan with proper diagnostics typically nets a 40-60 marks improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Is the IPMAT Indore 2026 result confirmed for 29 May?
A. 29 May is the most likely date based on IIM Indore’s pattern (Friday + ~25 days after the 4 May exam). It is not yet officially confirmed by IIM Indore. Monitor iimidr.ac.in from 28 May onwards; results may slip to the first week of June if processing extends.
Q2. Does IIM Indore conduct WAT for IPM 2026-31?
A. No. The current IPM 2026-31 selection design has only a Personal Interview (PI) after the IPMAT scorecard release. There is no separate Written Ability Test stage.
Q3. What sectional cutoff should I aim for?
A. For the General category, target above 28 (QA-SA), 38 (QA-MCQ), and 118 (VA) as a comfortable safety zone. Reserved-category cutoffs are notified separately at result time.
Q4. The IPMAT portal shows “Login Failed” — should I email IIM Indore immediately?
A. Not in the first hour. Try (i) cache clear + incognito, (ii) switch browser, (iii) switch network (Wi-Fi to hotspot), (iv) wait 20 minutes. Only then email the admissions cell with screenshots.
Q5. I am not shortlisted for IIM Indore PI. Is the IPMAT score useful elsewhere?
A. The IIM Indore IPMAT score is used only for IIM Indore admissions. For IIM Rohtak, you needed IPMAT Rohtak (result already out, 20 May 2026). For IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya, you need JIPMAT (exam on 7 June 2026). DU JAT is a separate route.
Q6. What documents must I keep ready on result day?
A. IPMAT admit card, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, government ID, category/EWS/PwD certificates if applicable, and a 200 KB photograph. Save scanned PDFs in one folder.
