JIPMAT 2026 Final 3 Weeks: Day-Wise Strategy for IIM Jammu & Bodh Gaya Admission - IPM Gurukul

JIPMAT 2026 Final 3 Weeks: Day-Wise Strategy for IIM Jammu & Bodh Gaya Admission

JIPMAT 2026 — the gateway to the five-year Integrated Programme in Management at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya — is scheduled as a computer-based test on June 7, 2026. With registration having closed on May 10, the next three weeks are the most leverage-heavy window of your entire prep cycle. IIM Jammu has 140 seats; IIM Bodh Gaya has 120. Combined: 260 seats across two of the most underrated IIM IPM destinations in India.

The candidates who convert one of these 260 seats are not the ones who started “JIPMAT prep” in January. They are the ones who used May 16 to June 7 — these final 22 days — with surgical precision. This post is your day-wise plan.

Why JIPMAT Rewards Last-Mile Strategy More Than Long Prep

JIPMAT’s pattern is fundamentally different from IPMAT Indore. There is no Short Answer Type section. There is no negative differentiation between Quant-Without-Options and Quant-With-Options. The paper is 100 questions, 150 minutes, three sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. Each section carries roughly equal weight. Negative marking is 1 mark for every wrong answer; +4 for every right.

That structure rewards three things: speed, accuracy, and ruthless section management. None of those are built in months — they are built in the last 22 days through high-frequency mock testing and post-mock analysis. A candidate who joins prep today with sharp basics can still beat someone who has been “studying” for six months but never took the test seriously.

The 22-Day Plan, Split Into Four Phases

Phase 1 (May 16-22): Diagnostic and Gap Mapping

Day 1 is non-negotiable: take one full-length JIPMAT mock today, under exact exam conditions. 150 minutes, no breaks, no phone, no music. Use the official NTA mock available on exams.nta.ac.in/JIPMAT or any reputable sectional generator.

Day Focus Deliverable
16 May Diagnostic mock + analysis Sectional score table, top 5 weak topics per section
17 May Quant: Arithmetic refresh Percentages, Profit-Loss, SI-CI, Ratio, Mixtures
18 May DI: Tables and Bar graphs 3 set practice with timer
19 May VARC: RC strategy day 4 RCs, build “first read” routine
20 May Quant: Algebra + Number theory Linear, quadratic, divisibility, remainders
21 May LR: Arrangements + Blood relations 2 sets each, log time per question
22 May Sectional test (all three) Compare against Day 1 mock

Phase 2 (May 23-29): Concept Reinforcement

This is the week you fix gaps identified on Day 1. By the end of Phase 2, every “I don’t know how to start this” topic from your diagnostic should have a method.

  • 23 May: Geometry — triangles, circles, mensuration. JIPMAT tests basics — Pythagoras, area-perimeter, basic 3D — not Olympiad-level geometry.
  • 24 May: Modern math — Permutations, Combinations, Probability. 5-8 questions per mock; the easiest section to score on if you’ve drilled the formula sheet.
  • 25 May: DI Caselets and Pie charts. Practice paired DI sets — when one chart’s data feeds into the next.
  • 26 May: LR — Coding-decoding, syllogisms, series. JIPMAT favours straightforward LR over puzzle-heavy questions.
  • 27 May: VARC — Para-jumbles, sentence correction, vocabulary. Build a 100-word “exam-week” list of high-frequency JIPMAT words.
  • 28 May: Full mock #2. Same conditions as Day 1.
  • 29 May: Pure analysis. No new learning. Just understand where you bled marks.

Phase 3 (May 30 – June 4): Mock Marathon Week

This is the make-or-break week. One full mock every 48 hours, sectional tests on alternate days.

  • 30 May: Full mock #3 in 9 AM slot (match exam time). Analyse same evening.
  • 31 May: Sectional QA + sectional VARC. Focus on speed.
  • 1 June: Full mock #4. Now you should be hitting 70+ percentile baseline.
  • 2 June: Sectional DI-LR + revisit your error log.
  • 3 June: Full mock #5. Final calibration.
  • 4 June: Read-only day. Re-read formula sheets, error log, vocabulary list. No new mock.

Phase 4 (June 5-7): The Final 72 Hours

The last three days are about sleep, light revision, and exam-day mechanics — not new content.

  • 5 June: Light sectional in the morning. Print admit card. Re-read NTA instructions. Plan route to test centre.
  • 6 June (D-1): No mock. Walk through your formula sheet once. Sleep by 10:30 PM.
  • 7 June (Exam Day): Light breakfast. Carry admit card, ID proof, two passport photos. Reach centre 90 minutes early.

The Section Strategy That Wins JIPMAT

JIPMAT gives you 150 minutes for 100 questions — that’s 1.5 minutes per question on average. But that average hides the truth. You should be aiming to spend roughly:

Section Time Budget Target Attempts Target Accuracy
Quantitative Aptitude (33) 50-55 min 26-28 85%+
DILR (33) 50-55 min 24-27 80%+
VARC (34) 40-45 min 28-30 85%+

The single most expensive mistake JIPMAT candidates make is over-spending time on one tough QA problem and leaving easy VARC questions unattempted at the end. Lock your section timings and move on — a skipped question costs zero, a wrong question costs one.

Sample Questions to Calibrate Your Level

Quantitative Aptitude — Easy/Medium band

Q: A sum of money doubles itself in 8 years at simple interest. In how many years will it become five times itself at the same rate?

Answer: Rate = 100/8 = 12.5%. For 5x, total interest needed = 400%. Time = 400/12.5 = 32 years.

Data Interpretation

Q: A pie chart shows expenditure of a family: Food 30%, Rent 25%, Transport 15%, Education 20%, Misc 10%. If the family’s total monthly expenditure is ₹40,000 and the family decides to cut Misc by 50% next month while keeping all other heads the same, what will the new total be?

Answer: Misc was 10% = ₹4,000. New Misc = ₹2,000. Savings = ₹2,000. New total = ₹38,000.

Verbal Reasoning

Q (Para-jumble): Arrange the sentences in the most logical order:
A. However, this approach has its limitations.
B. Many companies are now adopting AI-led recruitment.
C. Bias in training data can lead to biased hiring outcomes.
D. The process is undeniably faster than manual screening.

Answer: B-D-A-C. Statement of trend → benefit → caveat → specific limitation.

Why IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya Deserve Your Top Three

A persistent myth says IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya are “backup” IPM options. Look at the data:

  • IIM Jammu IPM: Five-year integrated programme, foundation phase taught entirely by IIM Jammu faculty, exchange opportunities with European business schools, average MBA-equivalent salary placements have crossed the previous cycle’s benchmark.
  • IIM Bodh Gaya IPM: Smaller cohort means tighter peer learning, deeper faculty mentorship, growing recruiter list across consulting and analytics.
  • Cost advantage: Total programme fees are meaningfully lower than IIM Indore IPM, which materially improves your effective ROI over 5 years.

For candidates whose IPMAT-Indore attempt didn’t go as hoped, JIPMAT on June 7 is not a fallback — it is a parallel, equally valid path to an IIM at age 18. Don’t underprepare for it because it sits second in your wish-list.

What to Do This Weekend

  1. Take the diagnostic mock today, May 16, before you do anything else.
  2. Print the day-wise table from this post and stick it above your study desk.
  3. Build your “error log” — a single document where every wrong answer from every mock gets one line: topic, why I got it wrong, what to do next time.
  4. Join a peer prep group. Daily accountability beats motivation.

At ipmgurukul.com, our JIPMAT Final Sprint module is built around this exact 22-day arc — five full mocks with video analysis, sectional tests every 48 hours, a curated 200-question revision set, and an error-log workbook. If you want this plan executed for you instead of running it solo, that’s where to enrol.

22 days. 260 seats. The candidates who treat June 7 like a one-shot opportunity — because it is — are the ones who will be sitting in an IIM classroom by September.
