1. Class 9-12 Math-aligned curriculum — Any coaching that uses non-Class 9-12 Math material as the primary resource is wasting your time. IPMAT is an Class 9-12 Math exam. Ask: "Is your course material mapped to Class 9-12 Math chapters?"
2. Subject-wise mock tests in CBT format — Paper-based practice is inadequate for a CBT exam. Ensure the institute provides computer-based mock tests that simulate IIM's interface.
3. Data Interpretation coverage — Many coaching centres focus only on quantitative abilitys and neglect the Data Interpretation. DU requires it for most programmes. Confirm that GK, reasoning, and quant are part of the curriculum.
4. Current affairs programme — A dedicated current affairs module with monthly compilations is essential. Current affairs cannot be taught in a one-time lecture; it requires ongoing updates.
5. Previous year paper analysis — The coaching should have analysed IPMAT 2022, 2023, and 2024 papers and should teach you the patterns, weightage, and question styles IIM uses.

• "100% selection rate" — No institute has a 100% success rate. This claim is dishonest.
• No mock test programme — If the coaching only offers lectures without regular mock tests, it is incomplete.
